essay 24

I used to be dreaming to be a principal as I could see that it is a noble and enjoying job. A person who had inspired me to be one is Madam Olivia, the principal of Victoria High School. I bet she was the epitome who made me realized that being a principal is totally interesting. If I were given a chance to be the principal of my school, there would be a lot of changes that I want to bring about.

Firstly, I will improve the school library. This is because library is a crucial place where students spend most of their time reading and making revisions. So, to make library a favourite place to be visited, I will make sure the library is air-conditionered. This will provide a comfortable condition for students. Moreover, more books will be added into the collection of the library for example science books, novels, magazine, encyclopedia, booklets, pamphlets-you name it. The cleanliness of the library will be taken care strictly. A rule which states that the fine will be given to the litterbugs will be reinforced.

The second change I wish to make is to carry out beautification projects. Many kinds of plants will be planted around the school. Hibiscus, rosess, chrysanthemum, ixora, sunflower and so on will make better view. Nonetheless, no one is allowed to pluck anything from it to ensure its beauty. In addition, a huge fruit orchard will be constructed. There will be many types of fruits trees to be planted such as apples and oranges. Therefore, everybody can have the yield. A big man-made lake will be also constructed. This is to evoke the element of tranquility so that all students will be not that stressed in their study. A special activity will be held in the lake which is paddling canoe. Wow, this is sure to be enjoying!

The utmost change is to foster better relationship between teacher-pupil. This can be done by having Teachers' Day Celebration at school level. There must be many interesting activities involving both parties like soccer match between teachers and students. Hence, the relationship will be enhanced to be much better than before. Furthermore, students are encouraged to give presents to their teachers to show their appreciation. Other than that they can also sing an appreciation song for the teachers. Mutual respect between students and teachers is significant to achieve the goal.

I will also provide more extra-curricular activities for the students. This is to make sure them to excel not only in academic but also in other things. Students are given the freedom to choose any club they like to be in. There will be tae-kwon-do club, archery club, swimming club, bowling club and so on. In addition, students are allowed to create their own club where they can have anyone to participate. Nevertheless, the activities of the club must not break any school and national rules. Extra-curricular activities are important enough to enable students in improving their communication skills. Moreover, they shall learn the meaning of cooperation and unity.. Besides that, they will get higher merit by involving themselves in such activities.

Actually, I want to emphasize that the facilities must be more efficient to provide convinience for both parties of students and teachers. A big avant-garde cafe with automated cashier will be provided. This will reduce the human source besides making works easier. A spacious parking lot will be constructed with the latest and sophisticated security system. Hence, they will have not to worry about the safety of their vehicles.

Being a principal is not an easy job. It needs high determination and spirit. I hope that someday I can be one.

essay 17

A very good morning to our Master of Ceremony, honorable judges, our wise timekeeper, and Ladies and Gentlemen.Today,I will talk about my elocution entitled ¡Sportsmen Who Have Brought Glory To The Country Should Be Given Pension Schemes¢.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Firstly,as we know, there are many successful sportsmen in our country who had raised Malaysia name in the eyes of the world like M Jegathesan and Marina Chin.To make it real, they had to sacrify many thing such as time, energy, and also personal life. So,by giving them the pension schemes, their big sacrifice was paid.Although the pension money cannot fully compensates what they had sacrified, but at least they will not think that their hardship was value nothing.

Nowadays,Malaysia is blessed with many potential sportsmen which are very young but precious too. However, they might think if their involvement in sports will guarantee their future life. This thought will disturb their focus and put them in a big dilemma as many assumption came to their mind. Here,I want to affirm that the pension scheme is the best solution to sweep away their worries. In addition,it should be given base on the sportsmen achievement. As a result,it will encourage them to concentrate more on achieving success without any doubt.

Beside that, giving away the pension schemes to sportsmen mean approving their contribution to the country and at the same time, the standard of the sports they played was approved too.It will be promoted and encourage many youngster to take part in that sports until the international level. This participation will prove that Malaysian too can play variety type of sports that was standardized and proved by worldwide.Furthermore,we will not hesitate to play that sports even in higher level.

Lastly,if we look through the life of sportsmen,we can conclude that sportsmen is a professional career just like doctor and engineer but with more contribution to our country. It is because besides practice and play so hard, they also have to carry a mission to bring glory to Malaysia in every competition they participate. So,as other profession is given pension schemes after retired, sportsmen also deserve to get it.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I think my points was enough to explain why the sportsmen who have brought glory to the country should be given pension schemes. Moreover, the time did not permit me to talk any longer. Before I step back,I would like to conclude that sportsmen are like fallen star to the country. Therefore, support them in whatever they play or compete and appreciate their contribution to our country.Thank you.

Sir,
Response to the New Straits Time report on 28 February 2005

Due to the report on 28/2/2005, a snatch theft victim has been unconscious and need more than RM 60000 for her treatment after she was hit on the head by two snatch thieves. As one of the public, I feel sympathy towards the victim but I also think that this incident give the society some awareness about this crime.

2. Lately, the snatch crime had become an issue as this terrible crime occurs a lot of time recently. Usually, the victim and the target are women and weak people. It was classify that those snatch thieves are people with no jobs, gangster or drug addicts.

3. I also think that some action should be taken to reduce the crime such as awareness campaign. People should be exposed and taught about what they should do when they face such problem. For an instance, they should learn martial art, or some defense techniques to protect themselves. Furthermore, weapons like small knife and spray should be brought anywhere as a protection from any danger. Moreover, media like newspaper and broadcasting play an important role in conveying information about the crime to the public.

4. Besides that, as a responsible public, we can help to reduce the victim’s family burden by donate generously to the victim. Since the victim needs a long time to cure and take many kind of treatment, the family needs a lot of money which are about RM 60000 and above. Hence, we can show our sympathy towards the victim by donating or visiting the snatch victim. Maybe, this will decrease the sadness of the victim’s family.

5. Nevertheless, the police should take stringent measures against the culprits and future snatch thieves. A serious, hard punishment and penalization should be taken towards those criminals. Thus, the victim’s right can be protected. Moreover, public must always be aware when they see such crime. Hastily action should not be taken if it will risk their life. At least, we can identify the thief and help the victim by reporting to the police.

6. Lastly, I hope my view will get a full consideration from your side. Thank you.

Yours truly,
VANISHWARAN
